  • Process full-cycle salary, hourly, union and non-union payroll using our in-house ERP system (JD Edwards)
  • Manage, reconcile, file and remit monthly, quarterly and annual stakeholder payments (WCB, EHT, etc.)
  • Process payroll reconciliations and journal entries on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis
  • Review and ensure timely reporting of all payroll withholding tax payments to appropriate provincial and federal agencies
  • Mentor and coach Payroll Administrators providing guidance and sharing best practices and expertise
  • Collaborate with work sites to ensure accurate and timely entry to time entry module
  • Resolve time entry issues and assist with time entry as required
  • Collect time and pay reports, following up on outstanding/missing information as required
  • Respond to payroll inquiries in a timely manner
  • Manage the annual reconciliation and reporting process for stakeholder accounts
  • Assist and support Manager, Payroll in the trail year-end and final year-end reconciliation, validation and creation of the tax forms per country
  • Work with Payroll Administrators when resolving more complex payroll processing and tax related issues
  • Support Payroll team during vacation and absences in the department.
  • Oversee Workers Compensation registration, when required for each applicable province; review/file workers compensation remittances for applicable provinces
  • Timely validate and reconcile Workers Compensation payroll deductions for all remittances required during the year leading up to the annual reporting
  • Third party responses to requests for information from: Workers Compensation, Service Canada, Canada Revenue Agency, and other governmental or external agencies as required
  • Respond to requests for information from internal/eternal auditors
  • CMS – update/create respective internal control records and documents as required
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc payroll reports as required
  • Testing changes in PY environment providing all reports and evidence
  • Produce, review and submit electronic ROE’s
  • Special Payroll projects and miscellaneous assignments as required assisting the Manager, Payroll



  • Minimum of 5 to 7+ years’ payroll experience
  • Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) plus working towards the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification
  • Previous exposure to full cycle accounting an asset
  • Superb attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Willingness to ask questions and ability to interact effectively in a team environment
  • Proven critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Customer service-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of ERP system, Oracle – JDE Payroll preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective communication skills
