Our client has a position available for a Business Project Manager with prior experience in progressive project management and project delivery experience within large, complex organizations. This is a full-time position working remotely for the time being.
Responsibilities
- Successfully leading high-value business transformation projects from planning to completion.
- Contributing and supporting a high-performance team environment within the project
- Scoping the project to determine resourcing, timing, the effort required to deliver project objectives successfully
- Creating and managing business transformation project charters, governance structures, work plans, RAID logs, and other project management deliverables
- Tracking & reporting on progress, risk, issues and decisions with various stakeholders, including the Program Leader(s)
- Actively managing project scope, timeline, and resources
- Using analytical thinking to evaluate risks, issues, adjust plans and solve problems throughout the project
- Working cross-functionally to interact with Subject Matter Experts, Business stakeholders, Program Leads, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Functional leaders, and other key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Where required, applying business process analysis, design and identifying alternative solutions to exploit new technologies through innovation and automation
- Maintaining quality assurance practices (e.g. retrospectives, quarterly reviews, annual scorecard assessment, etc.) consistent with program management industry best practices
- Aligning projects to the Portfolio Management governance and coordination requirements
- Validating the alignment of projects against the organization’s strategic direction and business objectives
- Supporting the Business Transformation Office maturity journey through leading or contributing to internal improvement projects

- Progressive project management and project delivery experience within large, complex organizations managing and contributing content to multiple large, cross-functional projects

- Excellent relationship building, persuasion, and presentation skills and the willingness to embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a teamwork environment
- Superior written and verbal communication skills coupled with an ability to build compelling business cases that demonstrate value
- At least one project management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM, PRINCE2, etc.)
- External consulting experience with a professional services firm (preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma certifications (an asset)
- Business architecture knowledge and understanding (an asset)
